Blumel was minus-2 in his first game on Friday against the San Jose Sharks. But the 22-year-old was hot at the AHL level, with five goals and 11 points in nine games for the Texas Stars.
From Czechia, the winger has had quite the journey on his way to making his NHL debut. Because of the injury to Denis Gurianov, he got his chance. So far, he is grabbing it by the horns.
